Fly fishing:
the archipelago of Los Roques is one of the main destinations worldwide for finishing bonefish that in this area reaches a weight that goes between 10 and 15 pounds. The main characteristic of this type of fishing is that it can be practiced all year round because Los Roques does not fall within the traditional paths of hurricanes. The best catches were recorded from January to October. Fishermen fish by walking on low banks searching for fishes that move between sandy bottoms or sea algae; these low banks can be reached by speed boat, accompanied by an expert guide that knows the zoning rules of the park, since this type of fishing is prohibited in fully protected areas.

Spinning:
spinning can be practised in Los Roques only in the islands that do not require an access permit, such as the islands of Crasqui and Noronqui. For Los Roques, fishing rods of length between 180 and 220 cm are recommended.

Trolling:
this type of fishing is carried out from the boat, dragging a live or artificial bait within the archipelago. The most longed-for and common preys are: barracuda, mako and snapper. Upon request, the posada will arrange for a speed boat with captain.

Big game:
it is possible to rent modern boats with expert captains and guides in order to practice deep sea fishing outside the reef, reaching the places which are most rich of fishes and only known by locals. The most common preys are: Tuna, Marlin, dolphin fish, sailfish and wahoo. Whoever wishes to practice this type of fishing must notify us upon booking, in order to ensure a high quality service.

Discovering:
since this is a national park, the authorities which are extremely careful in preserving the natural heritage drew up a map of the archipelago with the various levels of protection. Our captain and staff of the posada comply with these restrictions and allow visits only to permitted islands or those under partial protection that need a permit released by the authorities.
